As we all know, there are mainly two types of ink jet printer nozzles and ink cartridges. The first one is the combination of the ink cartridges and the nozzles in the manufacture, which is called one-piece type; the other is that the ink cartridges and the nozzles are independent of each other. Hewlett-Packard also has some commercial and large format ink jet printer cartridges with a split design. The use of split-type inkjet cartridges is mainly Epson and Canon brand printers.

In the printing process, a large amount of waste ink is generated, mainly in the inkjet printer with a split design. The main reason is that it adopts a split type structure: Since only the ink cartridge needs to be replaced, the joint between the nozzle and the ink cartridge is easy to enter. This problem is particularly evident.

In order to solve problems such as broken prints and unclear writing, all inkjet printers are equipped with hardware systems for ink cleaning and nozzle maintenance at the far right of the machine. The interior of the printer is equipped with a rubber-made rubber scraper, scraping the dirt attached to the surface of the nozzle with a rubber scraper; at the same time, after the printer stops printing, the ink car automatically returns to the “nozzle protection seat” and is implemented using the “nozzle protection seat” sealing function. Sealed for a short time to prevent the dry ink of the nozzle from clogging the nozzle.

For the split-type models that are prone to disconnection, the manufacturer adopts a more comprehensive nozzle cleaning and unblocking system. That is, under the “nozzle protection seat” there is a dedicated pump accessory for cleaning the nozzle, which is used to periodically withdraw the ink from the cartridge. Let each color ink pass through the nozzle hole, and finally spray from the nozzle to clear the pipeline to ensure the smooth flow of the purpose. These multiple colors of ink ejected from the nozzle are finally mixed together to become waste ink, which is to clean the print head. Throughout the entire process, many people referred to it simply as "shampooing." The waste ink produced by the “shampoo” has to be stored in a place, so the manufacturer set up an independent plate in the lower part of the printer, which is called the waste ink tank (also called waste ink tray). The one-piece inkjet printer replaces the ink cartridge and replaces the nozzle. Therefore, there is no pump attachment and there is no ink cleaning. It produces very little waste ink. The waste ink tank is under the “nozzle protection seat” and the waste ink tank is covered with rubber. The remaining ink scraped by the scraper will become stuck in the waste ink tank over time.
