3 Experimental data and analysis

According to the requirements and existing problems of the existing high-grade highways, tests are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the "Technical Requirements for Heavy Traffic Road Petroleum Asphalt" and "Technical Specifications for Highway Modified Asphalt Pavement Construction" put forward in the "Eighth Five-Year Plan" study. The packaging PE modified asphalt is subjected to the following performance tests to assess its performance:

1 Extensibility test of waste PE modified asphalt;

2 The low-temperature performance of waste PE modified asphalt is the low-temperature freeze-break test.

3.1 Modified Asphalt Extension Test

Plasticity represents the ability of asphalt to deform without damage under external forces, and is also one of the important indicators of asphalt properties.

The plastic good asphalt adapts to the deformation ability and can deform with the deformation of the building structure during use. The asphalt layer maintains the intact surface without cracking, and it can absorb certain energy without being destroyed when subjected to the vibration impact load.

Petroleum asphalt plasticity is related to its components. If the resin content is large and the other component content is appropriate, the plasticity is greater. The factors that affect the plasticity of asphalt are temperature and the thickness of the asphalt grease layer. The higher the temperature, the greater the plasticity. The thicker the asphalt grease layer, the higher the plasticity.

Petroleum asphalt plastic commonly used extension. The greater the degree of extension, the better the plasticity. The degree of extension is made by using a bitumen test piece as a co-shaped standard test die (with a neck cross-sectional area of ​​lcm2 in the middle), and an extension length (cm) at a specified speed (5mm per minute) and pulled down at the specified temperature (25°C). ), as shown in Figure 3-1.


The measured results of PE modified asphalt elongation are shown in Table 3-1.
