Cabot Corporation of the United States introduced the new brand of conductive compound, CabelecXS 4685, which features high impact strength and is suitable for heavy-duty injection-molded parts requiring permanent antistatic properties. The Cabelec XS 4865 was developed and launched to meet the requirements of the European ATEX 95 and ATEX 137 directives, which deal with products and equipment that could potentially explode, as well as workers who are protected in such environments. The industry is therefore required to be able to discharge static electricity. Product demand growth. Cabelec XS 4865 is a compound of carbon black dispersed in PP resin. It has permanent antistatic properties that are not affected by the environment and humidity. Izod impact strength is 55 kJ/m2, which is much higher than common conductive compounds.
