DuPont develops high-performance PE recycling additive

DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers recently introduced FusabondEEC-603D, a special additive with good compatibility with PE recycling materials. The additive is suitable for plastic-wood composite materials. The additive is a new type of ethylene copolymer containing maleic anhydride functional group, characterized in that maleic anhydride is located in the main chain of the polymer molecule, and the content of maleic anhydride in the copolymer is obviously higher than that of the maleic anhydride graft copolymer, and can be Recover PE and other materials such as fillers to provide more active connection points.

Tests have shown that this new type of additive improves the performance of the material and is particularly effective, and can also reduce the scaling of the extruder head. According to the company, FusabondEEC-603D has a wide range of applications and can be used to couple EVOH, lubricants, nylon, and even fiberglass in parent resins.
