How to choose liquid medium in the cryostat

The low-temperature thermostat consists of several key components: a compressor, condenser, evaporator, internal and external fans, a circulating water pump, a stainless steel inner tank, a heating element, and an intelligent temperature control panel. The working principle involves the refrigeration cycle: the compressor compresses the refrigerant, which then condenses, expands, and evaporates, absorbing heat from the water and lowering its temperature to the set point. If the set temperature is higher than the ambient temperature, the contactor in the control panel activates the heating element to maintain the desired temperature. The system supports both internal and external circulation, allowing users to connect it to a reaction vessel or other equipment for continuous temperature control. It also creates a secondary constant temperature zone outside the cryostat, enhancing its versatility.

To use the low-temperature thermostat, ensure that it is connected to a 220V AC power supply with a minimum current rating of 10A and a proper grounding system. When adding water, keep the water level at least 8cm below the top cover and always use soft water, such as distilled water, to avoid damaging the heating element. Hard water, like well or river water, can cause scaling and reduce the device’s performance. Follow the instructions provided with the temperature control unit carefully. First, turn on the power, set the desired temperature according to the manual, and once the temperature stabilizes, activate the circulation switch to start normal operation.

The design of the low-temperature bath features a metal outer casing with the control panel directly mounted on the water tank. Two condensate pipes are installed for water intake and discharge. A high-quality imported water pump ensures even temperature distribution, improving the accuracy and stability of the system. The unit supports both internal and external circulation. For internal circulation, connect two inlet and outlet ports using latex tubing. For external circulation, remove the tubing and connect the copper pipes to the reaction vessel, ensuring the correct connection to prevent backflow when starting up.

Important usage notes: The power supply should be 220V AC at 50Hz, with sufficient capacity to handle the total power consumption of the device. A good grounding system is essential for safety. Before filling the tank, make sure the liquid level is about 30mm below the working platform to avoid damage to the heating element during operation.
