Mercedes considers herself a fulfilled individual, having achieved many of her aspirations, including a loving family, fulfilling career, and cherished friendships. However, she remains ambitious, setting new goals for both her personal and professional life. For Mercedes, nothing brings her greater satisfaction than completing a project that brings her clients happiness. "Finishing a project and seeing my clients smile—it’s incredibly rewarding. Each space I design balances aesthetics and functionality, aiming for harmony and balance." Mercedes' rapport with her clients is exceptional, built on open communication and mutual trust. This strong foundation is key to her numerous successful projects. Word-of-mouth referrals remain her strongest form of promotion, proving that satisfied customers are the best advertisement. We took the opportunity to ask about her current inspirations and ongoing projects. "At the moment, I’m working on a restaurant, a hair salon, and three homes. Every project inspires me differently—I draw inspiration from nature, materials, and spaces around me." She also noted the growing emphasis on creating immersive experiences within spaces, stating, "Design is increasingly valued for its ability to evoke emotions and create memorable experiences." According to Mercedes, Portugal (especially the southern regions) and Spain (particularly Catalonia) excel in craftsmanship, preserving traditional techniques while embracing modernity. This blend of old and new ensures authenticity and emotional resonance in design. "In today's world, people seek spaces that nurture their well-being and elevate their spirits," she explains.
